Vintage 1940's Gordon & Ferguson Co. Original M-422A Military Flight Jacket

$600.00

Vintage 1940's Distressed Leather Bomber Jacket

This jacket is one of the first iterations of the iconic flight jackets issued to United States servicemen during World War II. The design was later updated and renamed into the often reproduced and imitated G-2 flight jacket that is still popular today. This specific jacket was produced by the Gordon & Ferguson Co. in 1941. The tag has worn away to the point that it is barely legible, but it reads "Jackets Intermediate / BuAero. U.S. Navy Specification M-422 A / Gordon & Ferguson Co. / Contract No. NXs. 416".

- Brown leather with knit cuffs and hem and fur collar
- Distressed goatskin leather
- Original Rayon lining, the salmon color has lightened and faded with age and wear
- Original hardware
- Missing right pocket button
- Zipper works easily
- It looks like a design or emblem was painted onto the front, but it has worn off over time
- In very good condition for it's age, but it was obviously well worn and loved for many years
